We have been sent the ‘Music Mark of Recognition’ to celebrate and recognise our school’s commitment to music both in and out of the curriculum. ‘As a school that actively engages with West Sussex Music and clearly values music in the curriculum, we are delighted to recommend your school is presented with the Music Mark of Recognition for Dedication & Improvement. Music Mark is the UK Association for Music Education, championing and supporting access to music for all children and young people.’

A huge thank you to everyone for your amazing hard work and kindness during Harvest Week! Our fantastic Harvest Helpers did a brilliant job delivering the donation boxes to Open House and The Easter Team. Both organisations were so grateful for the support!

The children had a wonderful time participating in the Egg and Spoon Race before the Easter break. An amazing £1264.40 was raised! This will go to the Crawley charity ‘Ten Little Toes’.

At our school we use THRIVE. As part of our adoption of the Thrive Approach, we carry out assessments of whole classes and individual children in relation to their social and emotional development. This assessment is automatically analysed, providing indicators of any particular areas for development and support. The results are used to guide the teacher or other adult as to the activities and teaching that would be useful for that class or child.    Thrive.pdf

In April 2024, the amount people can earn before they start paying the High Income Child Benefit Charge increased to £60,000. For parents and carers who have not yet claimed Child Benefit, or who opted out of payments and have income between £60,000 and £80,000, it can now be financially worth their while to claim. The easiest way to do this is on the HMRC app or online. Farewell to our super Year 6 children, wishing you all the best for your next adventures!

Well done to our adventurous Year 6 children that attended the Lodge Hill residential trip. We are so proud of them all, they have climbed, abseiled, snowtubed, zip-wired, got soaked and walked and walked and walked a bit more!

As part of our pupil wellbeing support, Fergus has been engaging with Thoughtful and created a Happy Helpers group for some of our pupils. This group has been running for some time now and is doing extremely well.   A group from the DfE in Ireland visited our lovely Happy Helpers last December and every child in the group received this letter.  Well done!

We recently wrote to you about a new parent portal that is linked into our Information Management System (MIS), which includes a new communication and online payment sys-tem. On Monday 6th February 2023, two earthquakes of 7.8 and 7.5 magnitudes struck South East Turkey and Syria, causing widespread destruction and leaving many families in dire need of help. More than 17,000 have died and thousands more have been injured. Many families lost their homes and the weather is bitterly cold. This has affected at least one of our families at Manor Green Primary, therefore we have taken the initiative to create our own support page, raising vital funds for the DEC Emergency Aid Charity. Any donation to our page will be gratefully received. Here are some pictures of superhero day from years 3 and 4!

Acorns Class were delighted to be named Tilgate Bakery's 'Your Local Heroes' last week and received some delicious jam donuts! Nominated by Vic, who says "Acorns class at Manor Green Primary is a class of all non verbal autistic children. The children have to have a lot of 1-2-1 support with everyday life. The staff are more than teaching staff. The small group of staff within that class, go above and beyond daily. Not just teaching, life skills, they support parents, set up behaviour / support plans and so much more. The staff are a lifeline to many parents. It would be lovely for them to be recognised for going above and beyond."

The children have had a brilliant week learning about Diwali and enjoyed some dancing today.

Manor Green Primary School was inspected by OFSTED on the 15th and 16th March and continues to be an outstanding school. This makes it 4 in a row!

Great News, Manor Green Primary has been successful in their application to be an Eco School. We have been awarded the Green Flag. Thank you to all the pupils and staff for all their impressive work around the Eco School Topics!

Some of our year 6's are on residential at Hindleap Warren.  They are having a great time and are being so well behaved. They have enjoyed a very muddy walk and a campfire. The Easter chick even had time for a visit!

The children had a great time taking part in the sponsored Egg and Spoon Run. Thank you to everyone who has already sent in sponsorship.

Here at Manor Green Primary we understand that the rise in the cost of living is having an effect on some of our families. Therefore we would like to support as many of our families as possible by starting up a food bank. We are reaching out for support from the local community for any food donations and would be grateful if any families from school would also like to donate. If so the types of food we would be thankful for are; pasta, tinned goods, rice, packet mixes etc. We hope this will make a difference and support to families who need it most. Any donations please bring to the school office.

The children had a fantastic time watching Sing 2 at the Cinema today, huge thanks to the Golden Lions for organising it.

This week the children enjoyed some wonderful sensory theatre workshops run by Different Planet Arts.   Different Planet Arts - Sensory Theatre & Inclusive Play

The staff and children have had fun dressing-up as their favourite characters for World Book Day!

On Safer Internet Day the children had a fantastic time playing with the resources in the Hall.

The children were delighted to receive boxes of fidget toys, generously donated by local business Dodd Enterprises.
