Oak
Oak class is one of our two year 1 and 2 classes following the Pioneer and Trailblazer pathway, children are supported by highly skilled and caring staff who are experienced in working with children with special educational and medical needs. Staff work closely with the class teacher and use a Total Communction Approach, alongside support from our Speech and Langauge Therapy (SaLT) team and other specialists, to help every child communicate in the way that works best for them.
Children are taught in chronolgically aged classes and follow a personalsied version of the National Curriculum, adapted to meet individual needs. As children move through Lower School, learning becomes more focused while still being fun, practical and engaging.
Learning is brought to life through whole-school themes such as Journey into the Unknown, Our Amazing World and Superheroes: Super Me, helping children make meaningful connections and enjoy their learning.
Maple and Oak have bright, welcoming classroomswith access to outdoor learning areas. Some children also take part in personalised activities such as rebound therapy, hydrotherpay, soft play, light and sound experiences and horse riding, supporting wellbeing, regulation and physical development.
Maple and Oak provide a nurturing and supportive environment where children can develop independence, skills and confidence at their own pace.
