Lilac
Our EYFS provision includes Little Acorns and Lilac, two vibrant classes offering fun, nurturing and child-led environments where children can begin their school journey with confidence.
Both classes are supported by highly skilled, specially trained staff experienced in working with children with SEND. Teaching, learning and behaviour support are delivered under the direction of the class teacher, with all classes adopting a Total Communication Approach and working closely with our in-house Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) team, alongside Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy.
Children are placed in chronologically aged classes and follow the National Curriculum, which is carefully adapted and personalised to meet individual needs. Learning is planned around children’s interests and engaging topic themes, supporting early communication, independence, social skills and the Characteristics of Effective Learning.
Our EYFS environments are bright and engaging, with access to outdoor learning spaces to extend learning opportunities. Children access the curriculum through creative and meaningful experiences, with some pupils also benefiting from personalised activities such as rebound therapy, hydrotherapy, soft play, light and sound and horse riding.
Together, Little Acorns and Lilac provide a positive, supportive and inclusive start to school life, laying strong foundations for future learning and development.
