Beech

Beech Class is one of our Year 3 and 4 classes and follows our Trailblazer and Pioneer pathways. Children are supported by a caring and experienced staff team who are skilled in working with children with special educational and medical needs.

Staff work closely with the class teacher and use a Total Communication Approach, with support from our Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT) team and other specialists, to help each child communicate in the way that suits them best.

Children are taught in chronologically aged classes and follow a personalised curriculum based on the National Curriculum. Learning is adapted to meet individual needs and is practical, engaging and fun.

We use whole-school themes such as Journey into the Unknown, Our Amazing World and Superheroes: Super Me to make learning meaningful and enjoyable.

The classroom is bright, safe and welcoming, with access to outdoor learning. Some children also take part in personalised activities such as rebound therapy, hydrotherapy, soft play, light and sound sessions and horse riding, which support wellbeing and physical development.

Children enjoy educational visits, themed days and whole-school events that help bring learning to life. Beech Class provides a nurturing environment where children can build confidence, independence and skills at their own pace.
