AI Statement
At Manor Green Primary School, we recognise that artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming an increasing part of everyday life. Our approach to AI is careful, considered and firmly rooted in safeguarding, inclusion and professional judgement.
AI is used by staff only in approved ways to support workload, planning and professional tasks. It does not replace the professional expertise, decision making or responsibility of staff. Any content created with the support of AI is checked carefully before being used.
Pupils do not have independent access to AI tools in school. Where AI is discussed or explored as part of learning, this is always planned, age appropriate, and closely supervised by adults. We place particular importance on supporting our pupils to develop critical thinking skills, online safety awareness and an understanding that AI tools are not always accurate.
We are especially mindful of the needs of our pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. Safeguards are in place to reduce risks such as over reliance, misinformation or emotional attachment to technology.
We remain committed to transparency and welcome conversations with parents and carers about how technology, including AI, is used safely and responsibly at Manor Green Primary School.
