Outreach 

Outreach Support Team

We form the Outreach Team covering the North of the County, working alongside QEII and Woodlands Meed Schools as part of the West Sussex SEAOS (Specialist Education Advice and Outreach Service) offer.

As part of the Outreach provision, we provide advice and support to mainstream schools in meeting the needs of children with SEND.

Areas of Specialism

Our support includes:

  • Early Communication (including Intensive Interaction, AAC and creating communication-friendly environments)

  • Early Phonics

  • Early Literacy (reading and writing)

  • Communication resources (including ALBs and Colourful Semantics)

  • Visual supports for transitions and positive behaviour

  • Sensory support (including sensory circuits and sensory integration strategies)

  • Positive behaviour approaches

  • Early Numeracy

  • Autism support

How Support Is Delivered

We follow the West Sussex Outreach Model, offering flexible support through:

  • Email and telephone advice

  • Face-to-face visits

  • Observations

  • Training workshops

  • Feedback sessions

School referrals will be piloted in the near future, with further information to follow.
