JOB DETAILS
Salary: TMS or UPS - dependant on experience + SEN Allowance
Contract Type: Maternity Cover (may lead to perm)
Working Pattern: Full time
Location: Ifield, Crawley

Start Date: Sept 2026
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
To be successful in this role you will need to:
- Be a qualified teacher (QTS) with a genuine passion for working with pupils with complex learning needs, including PMLD/severe learning difficulties (SLD) and autism (ASC).
- Have experience of, or a strong commitment to developing expertise in, supporting children with significant communication, sensory, physical, and medical needs.
- Demonstrate resilience, empathy, and a positive, caring approach in all interactions.
- Be highly organised and skilled in planning personalised, engaging, and differentiated lessons that meet the diverse needs of each learner.
- Be an outstanding classroom practitioner who can create a calm, structured, and nurturing environment that supports learning through sensory and experiential approaches.
- Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, including teaching assistants, therapists, and families, to ensure holistic development for every pupil.
- Have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
- Be reflective, adaptable, and willing to develop your knowledge and practice in special education, particularly in communication, sensory integration, and assistive technology.
- Share the school’s commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, teamwork, and ensuring every child reaches their full potential within a safe, stimulating, and caring environment.
