The unit is led and managed by Hannah Kay. Each member of team are highly skilled and trained in supporting children with SEND. They are responsible for delivering teaching, learning and behaviour support under the direction of the class teacher. All classes adopt a Total Communication Approach and work alongside the school assigned SALT team.
Pupils are placed in chronologically aged classes and follow the National Curriculum which is modified and personalised to meet their needs.
Each class has a vibrant learning environment that promotes teaching, learning and creativity. Each class has individual or shared access to an outdoor classroom, to extend learning opportunities.
Children in Lower School access the curriculum in an exciting, engaging and creative way, delivered by high skilled class teams. Personalised activities such as rebound therapy, hydrotherapy, soft play, light and sound and horse-riding are offered to some pupils.
