Family Support team. Max, Jan and Sophie are our Family Support team here at Manor Green primary. Their role is to offer advice and guidance to parents and carers. This can be about anything from how to ensure that you are getting all of the financial support you are entitled to, to help with ehaviour strategies at home. They are always happy for you to contact them here at school and they will be available during  parent/carer consultation evening to try their best to answer any questions you may have. They look forward to meeting you.

The Christmas Fair will be on Saturday 21st November. The Friends of Manor Green arrange the Christmas Fair, and other fundraising activities throughout the year. They desperately need your help! They are very short of parent/carer members, and their Chairman will be stepping down later this year. If you feel that you could offer support, either as a one off for the Christmas Fair, or to become a member of the Friends of Manor Green please contact their chairman Greg Tyler on Email the Chair of Manor Green Friends. This is a great way to get involved in your child’s school and meet other parents/carers.

We have started our studies for Black History Month. This will go on throughout October with a special focus throughout the week starting on 12th October. There will be storytelling workshops, music and other activities going on throughout the
school.

Last Friday we participated in the MacMillan Coffee Morning, and you were all very generous sending in cakes and money. We raised over £270 for MacMillan. Thank you all for your support.

I would like to apologise to those concerned regarding the comment made in last week’s newsletter regarding a company offering support to parents with children who have a diagnosis of autism. The intention was not a criticism but as a school I wanted to support parents to make a decision regarding approaches and strategies.
