We’d like to thank everyone for their support with the parking issues on the school site, especially immediately in the front of the school building during the morning and afternoon drop off/collection. Please may I reiterate that unless you are leaving the premises before 3pm, you should not be parked in the area immediately infront of the school building as this prevents the transport from collecting pupils and causes further congestion. It is also important that you do not access or park in the newer ‘overflow’ carpark at the lower end of the school which is predominantly used by staff as there is a likelihood of being blocked in by staff. Thank you for your cooperation with this matter.

Autism Support Crawley are hosting a talk by Dean Beadle at the Crawley Town Football Club Check a trade Stadium on Thursday 6th November from 7.30 until 9.15pm There is a suggested donation for entry of £2.00 per person. Tea and coffee are provided. All spaces must be prebooked by contacting maria@autismsupportcrawley.co.uk please. Dean has toured the UK for seven years sharing his experiences of life with Aspergers Syndrome. Dean is also an experienced journalist. He will be outlining his positive outlook on his own diagnosis .

Please may we urge parents/carers to ensure that you have correctly labelled all your child’s clothing which comes to school. This will help us to reunite the correct owner with the item of clothing. If you do have clothing which has been sent home in error and is not your child’s, please may we ask you to return the item (s) and place a note in your child’s home/school book to advise the class team accordingly.

The Friends of Manor Green Christmas Fair is Saturday 29th November. We’re sending home notes shortly regarding our non-uniform days and we hope that you will allow your child to participate in order to support this fundraising event. If you are able to offer any help with the fair or know a company (along with a contact name) who would be willing to donate items for the fair, please contact Julie in the school office, thank you. Your donations are appreciated, but please can we ask that you
do not send in: books, video’s, jumble, bric-a-brac or items that you’d find at a car boot sale. As the donations are sold at the summer fair, every donation helps towards raising funds which are directly used to support your child at school with extra curricular activities and equipment. Please help us to help your child. Thank you for your support, it is very much appreciated.

Dates that pupils may wear their own clothes into school and what they should bring in

  • 24th October – Clean jam jars filled with sweets  OR full unopened and new bottles of drink/sprits, fizzy
  • 7th November – New toiletries, unwanted gifts or similar
  • 14th November – Good as new children’s toys, games, puzzles.
  • 21st November – Anything from the above list
  • 28th November – Cakes!

Friends would also like to invite your child to design an A4 Poster at home to advertise the Christmas Fair. The winning poster will be used as the ‘background’ for the Christmas Fair poster so it doesn’t need any writing at all, it just needs to be a picture drawn by your child (and we need to be able to scan the picture) so no glitter or sticking please!
Pictures should be sent to: Julie in the school office by Monday 20th October LATEST. Please ensure your child’s full name, class and teacher’s name are shown clearly on the back of their picture.
The winning picture will be announced in the school newsletter that week!
Also: We will be giving a prize for the most raffle tickets sold for the Christmas Fair. Tickets will be sent home as soon as they are available. You’ll need to log the number of tickets sold with the school office when your ticket stubs and money from the raffle tickets are sent back.
